Our Classes

Creative Dance

(3-4 years)

These classes offer age-appropriate songs and fun activities to promote a positive learning experience. The young dancer is introduced to basic dance fundamentals such as strength, timing, balance, rhythm, flexibility as well as coordination. Our creative dance program is fully bilingual. It is offered on Saturday mornings to children aged 2 1/2 to 4 years old. Children find the joyful magic of dance through this introductory program.

Nursery Ballet

(5-6 years)

These classes introduce classroom structure and dance etiquette. We explore the fundamentals of dance and music in a fun and encouraging way. We focus on developing gross motor skills, flexibility and the necessary foundation for formal ballet technique. As a result, students learn a sense of rhythm, confidence & creativity.

Nursery Tap

(5-6 years)

Our nursery tap classes are designed to build on the skills learned in earlier classes such as strength, timing, balance, rhythm as well as coordination. We introduce basic tap technique and terminology. Developmentally appropriate exercises are introduced to help prepare dancers for years to come.

Acro

(7 years +)

Dancers registered for Acro are challenged by combining acrobatics skills with dance steps. It includes blending tricks, balance, flexibility, tumbling and dance technique. We recommend that the dancer take an additional dance class such as ballet and/or jazz.

Jazz

(7 years +)

This high energy and expressive dance discipline combine’s formal technique with current dance moves. These classes work to further develop flexibility and strength. We focus on strong basic jazz technique. This allows the dancer to complete many of the intricate jumps and turns. We teach age-appropriate material presented in a fun and exciting way. As a result, dancers of all ages love our jazz classes.

Musical Theatre

(9 years +)

MT class is a fun, creative and very expressive class. It is a combination of elements of dance and drama. This class will help students develop their performance skills. We combine jazz technique with dramatic games and exercises. Musical Theatre class focuses on character development through improvisation, song, dialogue, acting and dance.

Tap

(7 years +)

Our tap classes offer something for everyone including the introduction of traditional tap steps, styles and variations. Students gain knowledge and a better understanding of music, rhythmic technique and progressions. Warm up focuses on all primary steps that dancers will need to progress to the next level. These basic steps, leaps and pick-ups will eventually lead to more intricate drills and combinations. These classes offer a fun yet challenging option to those who love to make music with their feet. Dancers learn to improve coordination while developing rhythmic and syncopated footwork.

Modern

(14 years +)

Modern is an interpretative and creative form of dance. Dancers will be encouraged to communicate their emotions, ideas and concepts through movement. Modern dance is based on the principles of contraction, release and spirals. The dancer should have good body awareness in order to develop their own sense of creativity and expression. Previous dance training is required to register for this class.

Ballet

(7 years +)

Strong ballet technique is the foundation of all dance styles. We encourage all of our dancers to register for ballet at some point during their training. In this class we combine art and grace with the development of technique and proper placement. We focus on posture, turn-out and alignment. A dancer that is strong technically will be capable of executing the most intricate jumps, turns and specialty tricks with less effort and is less likely to get injured. Although ballet training is strongly recommended it is not the only way to achieve your goal as an accomplished dancer. As a dancer matures, they learn to appreciate the countless hours of hard work behind the flawless execution of a ballet dancer.

Pointe work

is added to the ballet curriculum when the dancer’s technical achievements and strength reaches a level where the challenge of pointe work would benefit their classical ballet training.

Hip Hop

(8 years +)

This discipline teaches the latest most innovative urban dance techniques. We focus on proper conditioning, stretch and strengthen techniques, across the floor exercises and combinations. Come and experience this style of dance that builds strength and stamina through the latest in hip hop movement. Age-appropriate music and material is presented in this high energy class. Students will gain a new sense of confidence while improving coordination and having fun.
